Defeat DIPG® Sends Smiles to Jack Overton
March 25, 2020 All day
You know what can brighten your day? Bringing joy to others! Introducing the DEFEAT DIPG® SENDS SMILES ONLINE EVENT!
Let’s spread some love and happiness to the very brave kids who are fighting DIPG. This is perfect activity to get your kids involved in giving back and helping other kids — while staying in the comfort and safety of your own home.
We invite everyone to SEND SMILES to kids who are fighting DIPG. For those hearing about DIPG for the first time perhaps, DIPG is a childhood brain cancer with overall survival of less than 1%. (See DefeatDIPG.org for more details.)
Here’s how it works: On each designated day, we will feature an Defeat DIPG Superhero of the Day within our Facebook event. We will simply ask for you to send an online message to bring a smile to his or her face! Be creative! A song, a dance, a joke, a picture, a skit, funny pictures of a pet, or whatever you can come up with that is fun and silly and sure to bring a smile to our Superhero. It can be a video, a photo, or a message shared inside the event.
It is a great chance to get the kids involved, but we welcome messages from adults, pets, or anyone! Only rule is to stay positive, uplifting, and as silly as can be!
Let’s stand by the amazing families whose kids are fighting the very tough battle against DIPG. They are facing the challenges of social distancing on top of the devastating diagnosis. Let’s bring SMILES to these kids!
Our first Defeat DIPG Superheroes of the Day will be:
WED, 3/25: Jack Overton
FRI, 3/27: Raegan Mize
MON, 3/30: Noah Halek
TUES, 3/31: Hudson Sands
THURS, 4/2: Elita Basha
We will share information about each child so you can make your videos and messages especially for them! Our goal is to bring as many SMILES to their face as we can!
We will keep the event going and add more days as long as we have families who would like to have their kids included. We welcome any parent to add their child to the list so we can SEND SMILES to them! Simply email us at events@defeatdipg.org.
